Ingredients
2 8-ounce ribeye steaks
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 tablespoons butter
1 pound cremini mushrooms, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Season the steaks generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steaks and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium rare. Adjust cooking time according to your preference for doneness.
Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate while you prepare the mushrooms.
In the same skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and garlic and cook for 5-7 minutes, until the mushrooms are soft and golden brown.
Once the mushrooms are cooked, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet and toss to coat the mushrooms in the melted butter.
Place the steaks back into the skillet with the mushrooms and butter. Allow the steaks to reheat for 1-2 minutes, basting them with the butter and mushroom mixture.
Remove the steaks and mushrooms from the skillet and serve immediately.
